The Effects Of High Temperatures On Bed Bugs

Extreme Bed Bug Control

Published: April, 2022

Did you know that using high temperature on bed bugs can kill them? You see, pest control companies are constantly coming up with new technology to fight pests. One of the greatest breakthroughs in this technology is a technique known as heat treatments. This technology was created after studying the effects of high temperature on bed bugs. What was found is that heat is by far the most effective way to kill these pests.

Using high temperature on bed bugs to kill them

This discovery started with a simple idea. Basically, high temperature will destroy any type of organic material. This includes everything from viruses and bacteria, to plants and animals. Scientists decided to experiment with this idea and test high temperatures on bed bugs.

What they found was that bed bugs die if they are exposed to high temperatures for at least 90 minutes and it’s environmentally friendly. These bugs cannot stand the heat and simply pass away. What’s also great about this method is that their eggs die as well, meaning new bugs do not hatch.

But how do you know if you have bug bugs in the first place? What you have to do is look for the signs of these pests. The most obvious are large red bites when you wake up in the morning. Also look for bloodstains on your bedding. You may also see dark brown spots on your sheets and pillowcases. These are caused by bed bug faeces.

Also look around the places where bed bugs are most likely to live. This usually includes the seams of your mattress. It can also include cracks in your bed frame, beneath the mattress, and in the area around your headboard.

What can you do if you have bed bugs?

These bugs can cause an enormous amount of distress in your life but don’t panic. For example, their bites are unbelievably itchy and highly irritating. Getting rid of them yourself is also extremely difficult. Because these bugs are small, they can easily hide. They also reproduce rapidly and can survive on small amounts of food.

This is why it’s highly recommended that you hire a professional exterminator. Most pest control technicians now use the heat treatment technology spoken about earlier. As we said, this method uses high temperature on bed bugs, in order to kill them. There are many advantages to using this technique. The biggest is that it simply works extremely well. Heat treatments kill 100% of bed bugs as well as the nymphs and eggs. Even more importantly, this method is fast and uses absolutely no chemicals. This makes it a lot safer for your health and more convenient than something like fumigation. It also means that this technique is better for the environment.
