Are your Air B&B guests complaining about bed bugs? This is a serious situation and something which must be remedied. You absolutely cannot have bed bugs in your Air B&B. There are several reasons for this.
If you run an Air B&B, you’ll know one thing: reviews are exceptionally important. In this business, you live and die by your reviews. Even a single bad review can torpedo your listing. If you get enough bad reviews, no one will book. Even worse, there’s a good possibility that the site could ban you. Yes, guests complaining about bed bugs, is a major problem.
You see, people are incredibly fickle. If they wake up with bites, it they spot bed bugs, you WILL get negative reviews. And these won’t be 4 or 3 star reviews either. When people leave bad reviews, they usually give you a single star.
Not only that, they also tend to write extremely negative things which puts businesses at risk. As you know, removing these reviews is impossible. They will haunt you for years, and massively impact your success on the platform. This is why it’s critically important that you take care of these pests. Never ignore people who are complaining about bed bugs.
Now, there are two ways to do this. To start with, you need to pay attention to what’s going on in your Air B&B because bed bugs can be picked up in public places. This means looking out for the signs of bed bugs. The first two things you must watch out for are blood stains and dark spots on bedding.
Blood stains are a result of bed bugs feeding. These bugs feeds and drops of blood are left behind. The dark spots are their faeces. The bugs defecate, and this is smeared into the bedding. The third sign is cast off body parts. This happens when the bugs moult. You may also find dead bed bugs. These pests are about the size of an apple seed. Their bodies are flat, and have a dark, rusty brown colour.
Look out for these signs when changing bedding. If you have a housekeeper, then instruct them to do this. Take action when these signs of bed bugs are spotted. The best way to do this is by hiring pest control. Ask them for heat treatments.
This is an advanced and highly efficient way to get rid of these pests and stay bed bug free. It takes only a few hours, so your business is not interrupted. It’s also a good idea to take proactive action. Get a pest controller in every month, or every six months. This way any potential problems are nipped in the bud. What’s more, you won’t have to deal with guests complaining about bed bugs.
