Bed bugs are a major issue in the UK. This is something that you’ll probably have to deal with at one stage or another. This is why most of our call outs actually involve bed bugs. We’ve become extremely good at getting rid of these pests and the reason why is simple. As well as having more experience than most people, we also use superior technology.

You see, if you really want to get rid of these pests, then the best way to do it is with insect heat treatment. Over the last decade or so, this has become the absolutely gold standard for dealing with bed bugs, which is an interesting fact. That being said, this treatment is good for a lot more. No matter what type of insect you’re dealing with, insect heat treatment can solve the issue.

Why does insect heat treatment work so well?

The reason why this method is so effective is because it’s based on sound science. You see, getting rid of pests is a billion pound business. There’s a lot of money to be made, which is why people are always coming up with new and better methods for killing pests. Along with this, pests are becoming more and more resistant to traditional pest control methods. Pests like cockroaches have built up a natural immunity to things like pesticides and poisons.

This is why insect heat treatment was initially developed. Scientists were looking for something more effective than pesticides. After a lot of research, they discovered something very interesting. You see, most organic matter is destroyed by heat and high temperatures. The most obvious example of this is when a fire burns something up.

How does heat treatment work to kill insects?

Hot air will also destroy organic matter, including living organisms. This is the basic idea behind the insect heat treatment method. As long you as continue to turn up the temperature, the pests will eventually die.

This idea has been thoroughly tested in laboratories. It’s been tested on every type of insect you can imagine including bed bugs, moths, fleas, cockroaches and others. What was found is that there is a certain temperature at which the specific insect dies. For example, fleas die at 35°C.

What’s also great about the insect heat treatment technique is that it doesn’t only kill the insects themselves. The method kills everything including eggs, nymphs and larvae. This is also why this method is now vastly more popular than things like fumigation.

Another huge benefit of this technique is that it does not use any pesticides or poisons to get rid of pests completely. This makes it a lot safer for humans and also friendlier for the environment. Ultimately, heat treatments can get rid of any insect pest you have. It works equally as well on cockroaches and moths as it does on bed bugs. Bottom line, if you have insect issues, then we cannot recommend it enough.
