Most people assume that bed bugs live in beds. This is a big part of the reason why so many people have difficulty finding these bugs. It’s basically because they only look in their bed. What you have to understand is that bed bugs can live in a number of places, even in your local public library. In fact, a lot of the time they choose not to live in your bed. This is because they can easily be crushed by sleeping humans who roll around at night. So if you’re looking for bed bugs, here are a few other places to look beside your bed.
This is actually the favoured living area for bed bugs. What they usually do is feed on you at night, and then retreat to cracks and holes around your bed. These places are ideal because they give them a safe place to sleep during the day.
It’s the same thing with bedside tables. Bed bugs love to crawl beneath these tables, and also hide in the grooves and joints. If you bedside table has a draw, then you might find them there as well.
Bed bugs live in beds, but they also love headboards. This area provides a great living space for bed bugs. This is because these boards are seldom, if ever moved. This means the bugs can live there forever, without being disturbed.
Besides headboards and side tables, bed bugs are more than happy to live in other furniture. This can include chairs, chests of drawers and cupboards. Basically, any piece of furniture can provide living quarters for bed bugs. They can even live on toys.
Strangely enough, while bed bugs live in beds, they can also live in electrical appliances. This is because these bugs are extremely flat. This means they can crawl through even the tiniest gap, and can get into even sealed appliances. You might find this hard to believe but trust us, these bugs can find away. If you have a lamp or clock by your bed, it could be infested with these bugs.
Bed bugs are agile climbers. This means they can easily get behind any pictures or posters you have on your wall. They also love to crawl behind picture frames and mirrors.
Bed bugs live in beds because beds are soft and warm. Certain toys also provide them with this softness which is why kids can bring them home from school. For example, they love living in teddy bears and other children’s toys.
