When exterminating bed bugs you have two options. These are: fumigation and heat treatments. If you’re looking for bed bug treatment, we strongly recommend that you go with heat treatments. In this article we will explain why heat treatment is better, and why you should always choose this method.
The main reason why heat treatment is better is because it uses no chemicals and bed bugs can’t tolerate the cold. You may find this hard to believe but zero chemicals, pesticides, or poisons are needed with this method. How does it work then? The method is simple. Living organisms cannot survive beyond a certain point. Essentially, every pest has a heat point at which it dies. A heat treatment machine simply warms up the room until this point is reached. Basically, when the room becomes warm enough, all bugs are dead.
It goes without saying that pesticides are strong chemicals that you may not want to exposed to. This is another reason why heat treatment as a bed bug control technique is better. You will no longer have to worry about pesticides and poisons. Not only that, you will not have to worry about the chemical residue which is left behind in your house. No chemicals will enter the wider environment and cause harm to any other living organisms. They target only the insects in your home.
Another problem with pesticides is that they are extremely corrosive. The chemicals contained in these products are extremely strong. When applied in large amounts, they may cause damage to fragile items. Obviously, this is something you’ll want to avoid.
Methods like fumigation require large amounts of preparation. You almost have to pack up your entire house. This includes removing or packing away food. You also have to pack away anything which you don’t want touched by poison. In addition to this, you’ll have to clean up the chemical residue which is left behind. Finally, you’ll have to spend extended periods out of the home. This is because you cannot immediately enter your house once the treatment is completed.
This goes hand in hand with the point made above. Heat treatment using high temperatures is better, mostly because it’s faster. You don’t have to pack up your entire home. Yes, there is preparation to be done, but far less than with fumigation. The treatment itself is also a lot faster. Mostly importantly, you do not have to wait for the pesticide to dissipate. This means you can immediately enter your home when we’re done. All in all, heat treatments are a far superior option. They provide a number of benefits over fumigation and should always be your first choice.
